Cellofoam plain expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam insulation significantly reduces energy costs by adding R-value to building walls and roofs. Cellofoam unlaminated EPS insulation is made of premium expanded polystyrene rigid insulation that meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM C578, Standard Specification for Rigid, Cellular Polystyrene Thermal Insulation. The EPS is composed of closed cells with excellent dimensional stability, compressive strength, and water resistance. EPS provides an excellent thermal savings per dollar cost. Composed of about 98% air, it has minimal weight, is easy to handle and install, and is UL approved.
Cellofoam plain, unlaminated, flat EPS insulation is generally used with an appropriate fire retarding cover board or overlay, such as Cellofoam’s FR Composite sheet, and may also serve as a leveling board for roofing re-cover jobs. In many cases, this insulation can provide contractors with significant cost savings versus commonly used Polyiso insulation, either as a direct replacement or in a hybrid EPS / Polyiso system under single-ply roof systems. Our plain, flat EPS insulation is UL classified TGFU.R7260 for fully adhered ballasted, and mechanically attached assemblies.

The R-value of EPS is permanent because the only gas in EPS is air. Unlike Polyiso or XPS whose blowing agents outgas and therefore lose R-value, EPS R-values do not degrade over decades of use.
Cellofoam EPS is quick drying and does not readily absorb moisture from the air. Its closed-cell structure reduces the absorption and migration of moisture; not a vapor barrier.
Meets or exceeds ASTM C578 specs, with excellent dimensional stability & compressive strength. When properly installed it does not deteriorate with age, and is resistant to mildew, rot, fungus, and bacteria.
Cellofoam EPS contains no formaldehyde or ozone-depleting CFCs or HCFCs. It is 100% recyclable and may contain recycled material.
Cellofoam plain, flat EPS insulation is available in a wide variety of board sizes, thicknesses of ½ - 6 inches, ASTM C578 nominal densities of 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0 lb/ft3, and compressive strengths of 10 - 60 psi.
